Water for Good

Impact Report on Maintenance Program

Program activities
Water for Good's local technicians maintained and monitored 1,125 water projects, keeping the clean water flowing from improved sources in rural areas of the Central African Republic, one of poorest countries in the world.

$1 provides access to clean water for a year or more to a person living in rural and remote towns of the Central African Republic.

Water for Good collected data on outcomes of the population after the program. To estimate the change attributable to the program, Water for Good made an educated guess as to how the population would have fared without the program.

Data source
Local staff complete electronic reports on-site during service visits, providing photo and GPS verification water project location and functionality. Beneficiary numbers are self-reported by community members and capped at 1000 people per project.

Attribution method
We conservatively estimate that 56% of water projects in CAR would be functional without our maintenance program, and 90% of projects are functional with the program. Thus, Water for Good attributes 44% of people who have access now to the Maintenance program.

This report was created by Water for Good with self-reported data using ImpactMatters' impact reporting platform. This report covers January 2017 to December 2017.
